How we designed an email marketing strategy for CucoCuca

At V3rtice, we’ve successfully launched email marketing campaigns for CucoCuca, a B2B jewelry brand that had never explored this channel as a conversion channel.

CucoCuca has found email marketing to be a highly effective way to drive downloads of its shopping app and build customer loyalty by keeping them informed of its new collections and launches, significantly expanding its sales reach, and strengthening direct communication with its audience.

Getting Started: How to Design an Email Marketing Strategy from Scratch

To implement an email marketing strategy from scratch, V3rtice began by optimizing its database by segmenting all its contacts by language (English and Spanish) to enable the personalization of each campaign’s messages and ensure greater relevance for each subscriber.

The three key points we work on in your first email marketing campaigns:

  1. Effective segmentation: We carefully segment our audience by language and add the necessary data for each client to ensure content relevance and personalization.
  2. Compelling and personalized subject lines: The goal was to get the database to open the email and interact with the campaign, so we included each user’s name in the email to personalize their experience and grab their attention, along with a compelling subject line that would promote a strong open rate.
  3. Clear messages with a highly visual design: The newsletter content is clear and concise so as not to distract the user. We used a design adapted to the brand’s corporate colors and clearly highlighted call-to-actions to direct the user.

Email marketing campaigns to generate downloads

V3rtice’s goal, as a digital marketing agency, was to implement an email marketing strategy that would drive downloads of the CucoCuca app so B2B businesses could place orders and our client could improve sales. Through clear, engaging messages and product photography that convey the identity of each collection, we encouraged users to view CucoCuca as a great partner for their business.

By creating their email marketing strategy from scratch, we established a calendar where we could announce new products and collections, as well as provide additional value through special offers and thank-you messages on special dates to strengthen the bond with their customers.

First email marketing results: great engagement

CucoCuca’s newsletters have shown positive results from the start, particularly notable for their high open rate and click-through rate. The initial campaign already achieved an open rate of nearly 60% in both languages, results well above the industry average. We created a welcome message to the channel with a CTA inviting the database to download the app.

The second email campaign, focused on announcing the new fall-winter collection, stood out for its high click-through rate: 14.2%. We thus achieved high engagement on the CTAs for purchasing the collection and downloading the app, indicating an excellent user reception of the content. This demonstrates that a well-designed strategy from the ground up can generate immediate and measurable results.

Why did this email marketing strategy from scratch work so well?

The key to success lay in three fundamental aspects:

  1. We did a good job of segmenting: Dividing the database by language was crucial to ensuring the effectiveness of the message.
  2. Content Personalization: Handling user data effectively, adapting the brand’s tone, and taking into account the interests of B2B audiences significantly increased engagement.
  3. Measurement and continuous improvement: Based on the results of each campaign, we were able to adjust and optimize subsequent newsletters to achieve better results.

Such positive initial results have marked an excellent start to CucoCuca’s email marketing strategy and lay the groundwork for even more effective future actions, strengthening its relationship with its customers.
