What is a logo for V3rtice and what can it bring to your brand?

A logo is a symbol made up of letters and images. It is the graphic design that represents the name and brand of a business. Created by colors, shapes and dimensions, it usually contains the name of the organization.

We use it for the visual identification of our clients. It represents their identity through colors, shapes and text. It appeals to the consumer’s visual memory so that he/she does not forget the brand.

The logo can be created and designed in the branding process, before the business sees the light, just when its corporate image is being created. Or in the rebranding process, to give another vision to a company that, for example, has been in the market for many years and needs a change of image to maintain or improve its positioning.

 

How do we at V3rtice design a good logo for your business?

There are different types of logos to design according to the client’s convenience:

 

LOGOTYPE

They are those made up only of text. It is the name of the brand and can be recognized by its typography and colors, such as “Google”.

 

ISOTYPE

They do not contain text. It is formed only by an image that represents the brand. As the name of the business does not appear in the logo, the brand will need to carry out marketing work so that the public links the isotype to the brand. This is the case of “Twitter”.

 

IMAGOTYPE

This is the union of a logotype and an isotype. It consists of an image and a text, as in the case of the “Movistar” brand. Sometimes, we find only the isotype, but the brand is still recognizable.

 

ISOLOGOTYPE

It also consists of an image and text, with the name of the trademark. It differs from the imagotype because in this case they are united and the image cannot be found without the text or vice versa. We would be talking, for example, about the “Lego” brand.

 

Designing a good logo is very important, at V3rtice, together with the graphic design department team, we take it very seriously and it is essential the creation and possession of a logo for any type of business that is or wants to enter the market, as it will identify and position it in the minds of customers and consumers.

What characteristics do we take into account at the agency to create a good logo?

Each logo is unique and responds to the specific needs of each business. That is why V3rtice takes into account the characteristics and conditions of each case. But all of them must follow some basic characteristics to be considered a good logo. We will tell you about them:

 

SIMPLICITY: generally, less is more, for a better understanding of the design by the client.

 

REPRESENTATIVENESS: the logo must be the synthesis of the brand’s essence and personality.

 

SCALABILITY: the logo, in a graphic way, must be reproducible at several scales, that is to say, from the size of a poster to the size of a small label or a business card. It must not lose legibility at any size.

 

PREGNANCY: a good logo must be memorable, it must leave the brand in the memory of whoever sees or reads the logo, it must be easily remembered.

 

ORIGINALITY: it must be different and singular within the sector/market in which it is found.

 

DURABILITY: a logo must be designed so that it does not look “old” after three or five years, because then it will have to be changed to adapt it to current times and you will confuse your audience. A logo design should not be chosen because it is fashionable at that moment, but it should respond to justifiable reasons and critical opinions.

 

RELEVANCE: it is essential to know who we are addressing in order to design a logo that will represent a business and with which it will be identified.
